Product Description

Midstream Tests - 20 mIU/ml hCG, over 99% accurate, Begin testing as early as 7-10 days past ovulation.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization and implantation of the egg.

The appearance of hCG soon after conception and its subsequent rise in concentration during early gestational growth make it an excellent marker for the early detection of pregnancy.

First morning urine usually contains the highest concentration of hCG and is therefore the best sample when performing the urine test. However, randomly collected urine specimens may be used (though you should "hold" your urine for a few hours before collecting a sample.

The Test and Control Lines on this test are pink.

Please read all instructions before doing the test

  1. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package
  2. Store in a dry place at 4-30°C or 40-86°F. Foil pouch should be at room temperature before opening
  3. Do not freeze
  4. Keep out of the reach of children
  5. For in vitro diagnostic use. Not to be taken or used internally
  6. Do not open the test foil pouch until it has reached room temperature and you are ready to start the test

How to Use the Test

  1. Remove the midstream test from the foil pouch
  2. Remove the Cap
  3. Hold the midstream test by the thumb grip with the exposed absorbent tip pointing downward directly into your urine stream for at least 10 seconds until it is thoroughly wet.
  4. Note: Do not urinate on the Test and Control windows. If you prefer, you can urinate into a clean and dry container, then dip only the absorbent tip of the midstream test into the urine for at least 10 seconds.
  5. After removing the midstream test from your urine, immediately replace the cap over the absorbent tip. Lay the test on a flat surface with the Test and Control windows facing upwards, and then begin timing.
  6. As the test begins to work, you may notice a light red flow moving across the Test and Control windows. Wait at least 3 minutes for the red line(s) to appear. If no red line appears, wait one minute longer. Some positive results may be observed in 1 minute or less depending on the concentration of hCG.
  7. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.

How to Read the Results

Caution

It is recommended that you do not drink water immediately before testing.  Drinking water can result in diluting your test sample and may affect the detection of hCG. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy may be harmful to the fetus.

Pregnancy Device Test

TO CARRY OUT THE TEST

Collect a sample of urine in a plastic cup.

  1. Bring the test pouch and urine to room temperature.  Remove the cassette test device and plastic dropper from the foil pouch.
  2. Place the cassette test on a clean, level surface so that the sample window and results windows are facing up.
  3. Collect a sample of urine (about 4 drops) in the plastic dropper by squeezing the dropper in the cup of urine.
  4. Holding the dropper carefully and vertically (straight) squeeze 4 full drops of urine without air bubbles into the sample well
Allow each drop to soak in before adding the next.
  5. Wait for coloured bands to appear. Depending on the concentration of HCG in the urine specimen, positive results may be observed in as short as 40 seconds. However, to confirm a negative result, the complete reaction time of 5 minutes is required. Do not read results after 10 minutes.
  6. Discard the test after use.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

pregnancy test

Negative:
If one coloured line appears in the control region on the test strip and there is no line in the test region, then this indicates a negative result, no HCG has been detected in the urine. This means you are either not pregnant or you have tested too early. If you are not sure repeat the test in 48 hours.

Positive:
If two coloured lines appear on the test strip, one in the test region and one in the control region, then this means there is a strong possibility that you are pregnant — HCG has been detected in your urine. One line may be lighter than the other, they do not have to match and this is still a positive result.

Invalid:
If a red line appears in the test region but there is no visible line at all in the control region of the strip then the test is invalid. If no lines appear anywhere on the test strip then the test is also invalid and should be repeated using another test strip.
